In Indian culture, one of the many meanings of Om (or Ohm) is its ability to calm the nervous system, balance energy, and draw attention inward. It’s a sacred sound that signifies harmony and connection; both within oneself and within the spaces we inhabit.
For this family’s Edgewater, Maryland, home, our goal was to bring that same sense of balance and serenity into their environment. Inspired by their heritage and guided by the symbolism of Om, we curated a design that honors their roots while offering a timeless sense of peace, focus, and connection.
A Serene Welcome
From the moment guests enter the home, they’re met with a scene that sets the tone for everything that follows. In the foyer, a hand-painted landscape by Lenehan Studios stretches across the wall. A tranquil composition of water, trees, and wildlife. This mural was thoughtfully chosen to evoke happiness, warmth, and positive energy, creating an immediate feeling of welcome.

A Workspace with Soul
In the family’s office, we incorporated Mind The Gap’s Jaipur wallpaper, an exquisite pattern that instantly reminded the homeowners of their birthplace. Its rich, soothing tones envelop the room, grounding it in history while complementing the built-in cabinetry’s functionality.
The result is a workspace that feels both personal and elegant; a reminder of where they come from, balanced with how they live today.

Design with Intention
Every detail in this home was chosen with intention—from the textures and tones to the flow between rooms. Together, these moments form a cohesive story: one that celebrates heritage while embracing modern comfort and functionality. The Ohm Home is more than a design project; it’s a reflection of a family’s identity, thoughtfully translated into timeless design.
